HOW THE VOTING WORKS There are two stages to the voting process
When nominations close at the end of May a shortlist of sites will be drawn up by a panel of judges. We expect this to mean between three and five sites for each category, but it depends on the nature of the entries (this is the first year so we're giving ourselves a bit of grace!) The panel of judges currently includes:
Judges will use a simple ten point checklist to provide an overall percentage score for each site nominated. They will then meet to discuss their views and select a shortlist of between three and five sites to be voted on by members of the public. Details
of these criteria are available on this site. Click
here to see them.
The judges will help sift
out the best in each category but we think it's important to see what
the local surfing public thinks. During June voting will take place
at this website to choose the best site from the shortlists in each
category (plus any others we've come up with by then). Mark Walker,
