Creating Our Neighbourhoods Of Tomorrow

The Internet is increasingly used by local groups and partnerships in community development and neighbourhood regeneration.

Come and hear about:

  • Brighton and Hove Neighbourhoods Online
  • National plans supported by the DTI and Home Office, whose representatives will be present
  • Achieving social inclusion in the Information Society
  • What the council is planning for Brighton and Hove

This free event will be a chance to meet local and national champions for the use of Community Internet and to discuss how this sits alongside other local and national community initiatives. It is part of the Virtual Festival community day, with a full  programme running between 10am and 7pm. This is not a technical event but a chance to meet people interested in creating better communities and discover what is already going on.

No need to book - just turn up and join in!

The Community Channel - funded by the Home Office and DTI - is using the Virtual Festival to launch its national Inventing the Future programme, exploring the use of the Internet in neighbourhoods and community and voluntary sector networks.
