Webcams allow you to see places all over the world or those just down the road. The quality can vary, it's rarely as good as seeing something on TV. The subject matter varies greatly too, from the breath-taking to the banal! It could be a known beauty spot or it could be the inside of somebody's freezer! You should also be aware of time differences if you're visiting sites abroad as you may see nothing but the black of night!

www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/walfordcam/index.shtml
- live coverage of Albert Square, the home of Eastenders. Watch the filming,
spy on your favourite characters and see if you can spot a plotline before
it's shown on TV. You should remember that they don't film there everyday
so you can have a long wait for some action. |
| http://www.livesights.com - with a camera situated on HMS Belfast, this site enables you to see the events on the Thames. It was particularly good when action from the latest James Bond film was being shot on the Thames but that isn't an everyday occurrence! |
| www.africam.com - visit different watering holes in South Africa and see if you can spot 'The Big Five' (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino) from your computer. A good site showing where the cameras are and the highlights of the previous day or month. It gives a really good flavour of an African safari without the danger and smells! |

www.samuicam.com - situated at Lamai and Chaweng Beach in Koh Samui, Thailand. It's not updated everyday though and is only live 6.00 - 11.00. Even so it does give you a taste of beach life Thai style everything is very relaxed and nothing changes very quickly! |
