STORM
New Venture Theatre - May 20, 21

Seven Brighton women storm the New Venture stage with 6 musically inspired all-singing, all-dancing comedic sketches on the oddness of life.

You have to see it to believe it - Clout and Standard Lamp, 2 theatre troupes coming together for a not-to-be-missed show of strong willed women being absolutely outrageously funny on stage -- this ain't the Spice Girls, this is arms falling off in one scene, sexy arm kisses in the next, a wee bit of history in an inflatable, lively arrangements of flexible limbs and faces on benches and bins, this is comic book central come to life with a rebellious riot girrrrls edginess and comic timing - superb!

The performers are highly skilled and each story is ingeniously devised for maximum visual impact. If you've seen either troupe, get ready to see stories not yet seen:

"Bags": strangers duke it out over space.
"The Wrong Tackle" a colourful vision of women and seafaring superstitions.
"Hammer House" outstanding queue horror.
"Coppers are Stupid": intelligent life forms breaking the law. "Passion": surreal indeed and finally to finish.
"The Singing Lesson": on enjoying the absurdity of being a musically inspired all-singing, all-dancing comedic professional.

The audience went wild with hoots and hollers after each story and TONIGHT [21st May] is the LAST night for this colourful tour de force. "Storm" is playing at The New Venture Theatre just up from the Lion & Lobster pub in Hove, Brunswick Square and the tickets are £4.50.

Beware: People who are afraid to laugh might be offended by this performance.

(If you go tonight, write to Virtual Festival Magazine telling us if you liked it and maybe we can inspire the performers to Storm the stage again.)
